West-Australian Landscape Opal

Australia is still - and rightly - considered the "motherland" of opals and fascinates with numerous valuable precious opal varieties. Less known, but often also very popular among collectors and opal fans are varieties with no play-of-color, as they are found around Norseman in Western Australia. This area is known for its rich mineral resources and owes its economic strength to large deposits of gold, crude oil, natural gas or diamonds, but it is also known to opal connoisseurs: Fascinating moss opals, mysterious landscape opals and Orange Opals - an orange-colored, individually structured variety - also have their lovers among opal collectors!
